Antique Chinese Hua Rong Tang Zhi Hand-Painted Ceramic Elephant Jar w/ Peony Lid – Early 20th C. This is a beautiful antique Chinese export Hua Rong Tang Zhi ceramic elephant jar with a hand-painted peony finial lid. Made in Guangdong, China in the early 1900s, it’s richly decorated in colorful raised enamels—pink peonies, orange and yellow blossoms, and green leaves on a deep blue background. Size: 9 ¼” tall x 9 ¼” long x 5 ½” wide Weight: 4 lb 9 oz (2070g) Mark: Red seal “Hua Rong Tang Zhi” on the base Condition: Overall excellent for its age. Backside has one very small scrape, gaps at finial, light enamel crazing inside blossoms, and some wear to tiny yellow dots. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Colors remain bright and vibrant (see photos).
